Where are all pictures of the dead tigers?...I see food on the ground.

You have of course no empathy for the captives. Perhaps the meat you see on the ground is what remained from a tiger that had been starved to death.

Every year China's so-called "zoos" make scandals. A zoo should never be a profit centre. It should not be a tourist attraction. It should be a venue where the sophisticated public learns about wildlife and gets glimpses of its fauna and flora. But there are no genuine zoos in China. They all are run by greedy and immoral humans. In some they throw live animals to predators in front of a gleeful Chinese public. In others they raise crocodiles and slaughter them in a nearby restaurant. In others they raise beautiful tigers only to turn them into pseudo medicinal products.

People who abuse animals should be jailed. Period!

Spain and China have some of the world's worst animal treatment records!

They don't jail animal abusers in the western countries

No. We throw them as food to the lions, wolves and hyenas.

You are very right; they don't. And offenders either get away with it or with ridiculous fines not ...

Ridicuylous statement. We are discuyssing abuses of animals in CHINA, and you and KBay are distracting from the topic with false claims and cynicism.

There do happen no such grievous animal rights abuses in the West as there do in China. Spain is a separate case, and I am pleased you feel suitably embarrassed for it.
There was, for example, that U.S. dentist who killed a lion in Zimbabwe. His case made news around the world. Few people bothered to follow up the story to see that although he killed the lion outside the permitted area he was in Zimbabwe for the specific aim of shooting a lion which he could only do with a permit from the authorities. This permit had been given to the ranger who accompanied that dentist. In other words: you and KBay have double standards. The case of China which produces such scandals serially is swept under the carpet by your generalising statement about how offenders in the West "do not get prosecuted".

They do, even if the fines are "ridiculously low". You can be prosecuted for cruelty to animals if you maltreat your own pet.

You are absolutely right in this. I have a post in this thread about the shameless Spanish law that allows and protects animal abuse in a ring....... it's called bullfighting!

No double standards from me. Animal abuse and maltreatment should be punished wherever it happens. Our family has a long record for reporting and in many cases taking to court those who traffic with pets in China: from pet thieves to illegal animal poachers.
