There are numerous weird superstitions in China. Particularly weird is the one about firing crackers during Spring Festival to frighten away the mythical creature called 'nian', despite the crackers doing so much bodily injuries and damage to properties!

Superstitions, not superstitious. Get the title language correct.  Anyone who has superstitions needs medication. Pathetic subject.  This subject only shows the ignorance of the human species.

Dialectical Materialism.  This is a Victorian-age notion that the world is made up of billiard-ball like particles (plus maybe electricity, which is a different sort of billiard balls) and the whole thing bumps into itself through a magical force called The Dialectic.

One of the most famous sayings in Dialectical Materialism is attributed to the comedian Karl Marx, whose trademark jape was "Jenny, Jenny*, where did I put my dialectic?  I've got to find it.  I've got to go to a meeting!"

*This saying is also commemorated in a famous song, "Jenny, Jenny" by Little Richard, and many other great proletarian artists.
