It’s no surprise to hear that many Chinese are very superstitious when it comes to numbers, colors and even certain times of year. With the lunar Year of Sheep looming in February, soon-to-be Chinese moms are doing everything in their power not to have their baby born in that ill-fated time.

It is believed that the Year of Sheep is not a very good year to have a baby. There is even an ancient saying “Shi yang jiu bu quan”(三羊九不全), literally meaning, nine out of 10 people born in the Year of the Sheep will suffer greatly. This saying still holds sway over some Chinese families, who fear that if a baby is born in the Year of Sheep, they might have a bad luck for their entire life. What do you think? Ridiculous? Please share some weird superstitions you've ever heard or learnt in China. Thanks.
