So how is that going to resolve the fact of terrorists executing thousands of innocent Arab people ...

Point is....
The problems in the Middle East now, is caused by US foreign policy.
We are the major military force there, which is the reason these groups exist

That is why America is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
We are "all in" at this point and there is no end in sight.

The US does not need the Middle Eastern oil. Domestically, it is oil independent. There is no immediate shortage of oil, which is why the price continues to fall steadily over the past month to $103 per barrel (even with the conflict going on in the Middle East). Many oil companies expect oil prices to dip below $100 within weeks. This price uncertainty is keeping oil companies from investing in new capital. In fact, most oil companies are reducing their capital expenditure this year.

In the meantime, while the US and some European powers try to figure out how they should intervene to prevent the disintegration of Iraq, China is absent. But China needs the Iraqi oil in growing volumes. Its import dependence for oil now stands at 8m barrels a day and is rising. Its imports could be well over 11mbd by 2030. The only country in the world able to provide such an increase amount of oil is Iraq, and it is no accident that China is heavily invested in the development of the Iraqi oil fields. By the Iraqi government’s own figures, China is the largest foreign investor in its oil sector. As US oil consumption and import requirements decline, energy security has now become a Chinese issue.

With the US continuing to resist the idea of putting American boots back on the ground in the Middle East, the Chinese could find themselves forced, however reluctantly, to become the enforcer of stability for the Middle East countries that matter to them. From there the slippery slope to greater engagement begins.
