China condemned the United States on Wednesday after US President Donald Trump signed the "Hong Kong Autonomy Act" into law, and said it will take countermeasures to safeguard its legitimate interests.

The Foreign Ministry said in an online statement that sanctions would be imposed against relevant US individuals and entities.

The act slams the National Security Law for Hong Kong and threatens to place sanctions on China, which is a violation of international law and basic norms governing international relations and constitutes gross violations of China's domestic affairs, the statement said.

Hong Kong affairs are purely China's internal affairs and admit no foreign interference, the statement said, adding that Beijing urges Washington to correct its mistakes, refrain from implementing the act and stop any interference in Hong Kong affairs and other domestic affairs of China.

The Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region said on Wednesday that Washington's meddling in Hong Kong affairs and its threat are acts of bullying driven by hegemonic logic.

The office said in a statement that no external forces will undermine China's resolve and confidence in safeguarding its national sovereignty and security as well as the long-term prosperity and stability of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

US economic sanctions will not substantially affect Hong Kong, but instead will severely dampen its own interests in the region, the office said.

The Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council also expressed strong indignation. It said in a statement that the National Security Law for Hong Kong has taken effect and will be implemented rigorously.

Any act that endangers national security will be seriously punished without regard for external opinions, it said, adding that US attempts to block the law's implementation will never succeed.

The Hong Kong SAR government said on Wednesday that it will fully cooperate with the central government in taking countermeasures to frustrate US attempts at hegemony.

The US moves, using human rights, democracy and autonomy as an excuse, are a product of its own political calculations, the SAR government said, and the act constitutes a violation of international law and an attempt to make trouble in Hong Kong and contain China.

The SAR government said the US law and presidential order ending Washington's preferential treatment for Hong Kong have no legal force for the financial institutions of Hong Kong.

Political leaders, legal experts and scholars in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland also slammed the so-called Hong Kong Autonomy Act as arrogant. Hong Kong Executive Council member Regina Ip Lau Sukyee said the sanctions are meant to retaliate for the National Security Law for Hong Kong and deliberately distort the city's constitutional status.

Tian Feilong, an associate professor at the Law School of Beihang University, said the Sino-British Joint Declaration doesn't form the constitutional foundation of Hong Kong, and that's where the US didn't have a correct understanding of the city's autonomy under the "one country, two systems" principle.

The act, a zero-sum tactic, will backfire and harm US economic interests, including US companies doing business with the city, Tian said.

Fabio Massimo Parenti, an Italian professor and geopolitical expert, said the sanctions and the act constitute "unbelievable" political interference in another country's internal affairs. Parenti, a professor at China Foreign Affairs University, said that if the roles were reversed, and China had approved a law including international repercussions for the US in response to social injustice against its minorities, there would be pandemonium.

Truth is 'Slavery, Colonialism and Colonization' are all evil things done by evildoers.

Asia has been under attack from Anglo British, ever since they sailed half way around the world from jolly old England, and looted this vast bountiful Continent in Asia Pacific region in late 18th century. Why didn't they occupy beautiful fertile Iceland, right above them just a short distant away, with hardly any people there, even today?

Besides, all thy invaders Colonizers doing is digging and emptying out all the bountiful abundant natural mineral resources, such as iron ores and others, from the looted giant resourceful Continent in Asia-Pacific region, and selling them back to Asia-Pacific nations. True, it has been their largest exports, earning several hundred Billion Dollars, every year.

Hong Kong is becoming sort of like, a rich spoiled child who only care about oneself. This is highly unacceptable, need to be admonished. Moreover, Hong Kong in the past prospered a great deal because of China, since mainland China historically was blocked by the Colonialist Anglo West, and could not export their products directly to outside world under Western influence; thus Hong Kong came in and basically acted as a middle man, relabeling products from China and taking commission on it. Moreover, these Protest groups/organizations that Capitalist West helps set up in Hong Kong are nothing more than the forefronts of Tit-for-Tat protocol in place, in times of event that their capitalist imperialist interests are threatened; what they basically do is unleash those watch groups and organizations as part of their all out effort to destabilize any region that they feel threaten. So, why not send them rioters and protesters alike over to place like Australia, which is 1000 times larger than Hong Kong where people live like sardines in a can. Speaking of Australia, may I ask why is this vast resourceful Continent in Asia-Pacific, only a few hundred miles away from South-East Asia had no Asian-Pacific Islanders in that vast land originally, historically inhabiting when Anglo pirates, some 10,000 miles away England, sailed half the world away, and looted in late 18th century? This doesn't make sense, since Asian-Pacific Islanders originally and historically inhabiting and residing in Pacific such as Guam, Tonga, New Zealand, Tahiti, Fiji and Hawaii? Speaking of New Zealand, why did these same Anglo pirates, sailed half way around the world and looted in late 18th century? Why didn't they occupy beautiful fertile Iceland, right above them just a short distant away, with hardly any people there, even today? "sanctions would be imposed against relevant US individuals" - So President Trump would be refused entry to China?

GhostBuster

US President Donald John Trump demonstrates to the world his presidency and administration are in hot soup!

If US really wants Hong Kong, then US should collect them on their aircraft carriers through or from third country and nurse them in US.

Just simply telling Hong Kong people what US could do is telling white lies!

Oh! Only white tells lies!

How sad!

The Anglos were part of the barbarian hordd that sacked Rome and brought about the Dark Ages.

Think about it. China is the World's oldest surviving civilisation. Compared to Anglos and Jews, Chinese are beings from the 70th century.

One of Poodleville's Labour goons & thugs, now under Deep-State establishment insider Kier Starmer, accused Huawei of IP theft and then tried to confluence this with Huawei's 5G security. The Huawei representative pointed out that what he was suggesting wasn't even possible.

The accusations hurled at Huawei with the usual zero supporting evidence but accepting Ericsson and Nokia without question, is straightforward bigotry. But then, even rabid Ian Duncan-Smith has pointed out the "contradiction" of accepting Huawei for the last 20 years and continuing to use Huawei's 3G and 4G technology but then suddenly claiming that 5G is "somehow" more of a security threat. Furthermore, even the sheeple are instructed to impose a "air gap" between sensitive information and the internet.

The poodle state has a technology centre funded by Huawei to allay any security concerns. Yet the most spineless cop-out in all of history is the claim that the Great Satan's ban on semiconductors and Google s**tware is their contrived and convoluted excuse for the poodle-state coming to heel when ordered to by the Great Satan.

The USA has been forgoing and forsaking many entities and institutions in the world such as WTO & WHO because it no longer able to cast their orders to be obeyed obediently like lap dogs often and always do. The US Trump Admin does not know the meanings of international laws and orders if its orders and whims are not obeyed. They even walked out of ICC Netherlands when war crime tribunal was mounted and filed against its war atrocities in various parts of warring nations where and when the US military had been and are involved in them.

Such attitudes are gangster tactics and hegemonies needing urgent overhauls of its beliefs and systems like how a good plane needs constant maintenance to fly safely and profitably. Somehow, it will not change so easily nor so swiftly like any spoiled child behaves.

Hong Kong (CHINA) :  " Any act that endangers national security will be seriously punished without regard for external opinions, it said, adding that US attempts to block the law's implementation will never succeed.  "  In this aspect, the USA can go to hell with its desires to disrupt and mess up !

As true as it could be expressed wherein and it is purely internal / domestic affairs of Hong Kong ( CHINA ) to handle any situation appropriately and swiftly to rationalize further losses and damages.  Likewise, containing the spread of COVID-19 in China is a typically good example of swiftness in actions to save lives, collateral losses and physical damages.
