Not long before, news about Vietnamesebrides sprung up across the Web and attracted great attention. However, theseseemingly voluntary transnational marriages may probably be the result of humantrafficking, as said by police. Less people are going out for a blind date, while more people are bringing foreign girls to China for men to choose from. Areporter thus went to Huanggang County, Jiangxi province to conduct amasquerade. What he found was that some local people pretended to be localpolice, and acted as brokers to help with human trafficking.

The taxi carried the reporter into Huanggang County and stopped in front of a private kindergarten. Several people stood there as lookouts, while four people, two male and two female took the reporter into the room. The reporter could see a girl sitting in the back room through a hole in the door.
A young man who name himself Mr. Zhang told the reporter: “Her name is Mary. She is 22 and came from Cambodia. If you find her satisfying, you can ‘buy’ her with 98000 yuan.”

Most of the girls here were from Vietnam and Cambodia. Their “prices” vary with their appearance and age. The foreign girls do not understand Chinese, and would smile to the people who come to them.

Seeing the reporter, the girl stood up and smiled. But she kept peeping at other men and women who required her to turn or take photos. Then the reporter said he would like more time to think before buying the girl, and left the kindergarten.
