School is the place where learning is conducted. Poor performance of students in examinations does show that the school needs to improve its teaching methods. Punishment of student will push student down to have no self interest and loss of interest in learning.

I question the wisdom behind taking any of your exams. These exams are meaningless. A whole class of pupils sitting like tightly packed sardines so close to each other than everyone can copy from their neighbours...

When I gave university students exams they had to answer questions that differed for each student so that each had to work on his or her own answers.

A good school may influence a student's whole life, especially for those eager to get advanced educa ...

First, a good school is a place where students are taught and equiped with fundamental skills and be independent in thoughts to learn and gain knowledge. Today, good schools are schools that considered to produce students with top grades or scores in nationa examinations so that they would attend top universities in the nation or foreign countries. This is to me the real failure of being a school. Take the China Party School, where government officials attend. Upon graduation, majority of them turned themselves into corrupted officials. Instead of relieving pains and giving assistance, they turn into merciless human beings inflicting more pains or even deaths!

Chinese parents do make one common error. They think that once the child is in school, it is the school that must be held responsible for the child.
School is place for educating the child. Punishment is never effective. Knowing the cause for poor academic performance will enable steps and measures to be taken to solve the real problem.
Once heard a teacher telling students, 'I have explained it a million times! You must be VERY STUPID!'.
Unfortunately, the teacher should ask what caused the students unable to understand.
Of course, there are many reasons. Sometimes, it is just that nothing could sink into their heads!

One could learn how to solve all kinds of equations. However, if none of the solutions could be related to physical application, the knowledge is but A WASTE!
Seem too many students with excellent grades but few measure up to the grades they possess!
In the end, limited precious resources are wasted!
