Just watch the YOUTUBE video of the Shanghai Expo 2010!
(I apologize if the FOREIGN coverage, and the comments in the China Daily forum are false! This is my honest, rational opinion!)

200 pavillions, hours of wait for each!
handling 300,000 visitors daily!

Suggest these ideas to improve, and make the COMING OF AGE party more fun for Chinese from China, and visitors from overseas!

(probably too late for my trip on 15th June)

(1) Have TERMINALs in various location of the EXPO to issue QUEUE TICKET to direct visitors to the NEXT AVAILABLE PAVILLION in the EXPO site!

(2) Check the CCTV video, and estimate the average time each visitors take on each of the 200 pavillion! Check pedestrian traffic, and place appropriate rest points, food point, toilet to visitors!

(3) Create short queues for allocated time, and let in entire groups of people assembled quickly!

(4) Have lots of COURTESY lady officers to help FOREIGNER, local outstation Chinese on how to use terminals etc.

(5) Adjust daily visitors ticket sales to ensure the EXPO staff can cope!

Once in a lifetime visit for many CHINA CITIZENs, Let's make it pleasant!

cheerios!

Hey, those Ideas are quite cool,
and deserved to be considered, discussed and further enhanced, I think.
those Terminals in 1, taking into consideration actual location,
already visited pavillons from RFID Ticket,
and general direction of visitor, supplied by customers own input
and from the already visited pavillons.

A privacy Nightmare I have to admit,
but what does it matter, TIC!

I have HORROR mental picture of Japan, Hong Kong subway systems!

Crush, and sweaty - of fainting children, old folks......
Probably such vision will turn away many FOREIGN visitors from Shanghai Expo2010
Local people are used to the CRUSH from train stations, new store opening, or lining up for new IPO forms!

Wa ha ha ha

But this is a CHINA AFFAIR, an internal COMING OF AGE party.
Foreign visitors probably are not necessary!

When Singapore introduce AIR CONDITIONING to SBS bus....

......and increase ticket prices, bus number per route in early 1990's, it was near the end of HORRORs of public transport in Singapore. Somehow, bus became a little bit less crowded. Well, near end, till the RUSH HOURS!

Wa ha ha ha

In fact the introduction of MASS RAPID TRANSIT, in Singapore was part of the reason!

#1 Most of the people who complain about the long........

waiting time at the Expo would have had to consider that before buying the tickets. Let's face it; this is China and only with the folks of this country you could fill in a few "expo" venues.

My 2 cents; maybe it would be more simple if they sold tickets to the most crowded pavillions with date and time of entrance. Something like when you go to visit the doctor.....

I am in Shanghai and have crossed several times the Lupu Bridge  several times since the Expo started and it certainly looks like there's a big crowd down there!
