Sweet and sour chicken, beef and black bean source, and chow mein --- these are some of the most common Chinese foods you could see in Britain, and they have been voted as the favorite takeaway cuisine of the British people according to a television documentary.'

A Channel 5 documentary show called 'Britain's Favorite Takeaway' has ranked 20 of the most beloved dishes in the country, and Chinese food was crowned top by nabbing nearly a quarter of the overall vote.

Indian food ranked second, and British classic fish and chips came in third. Pizza and burgers were voted as the fourth and fifth respectively.

Digging into the origins of the cuisines, the documentary revealed that the first Chinese restaurant opened in Britain in 1908, while immigration from Hong Kong in the 1950s and 1960s made the food even more popular after. (China Plus)

What a surprise the Brits take on to that fatty pork, commonly called 'dongbo rou' in China!  If they keep swallowing that and other Chinese fatty foods, they will end up obese and suffer cardiovascular disease at young a age!

No surprise at all;

  For England alone, Public Health England published data in May 2017 indicating that 63.8% of adults in England have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or over with the most overweight region being the North East, where 68% of people are overweight, followed by the West Midlands at 65.7%.

  The study of 900 million people found that only Malta and Turkey have higher levels of obesity than Britain, which has risen from fifth place, in just six years.

  On average, Britons drink 10.7 litres of pure alcohol a year, compared with a European average of 8.6.

In total, 27.8 per cent of adults are obese, the international study shows, while 63.7 per cent are classed as overweight or obese. The worsening trends have seen Britain overtake Lithuania and Andorra for obesity.

   The Uk is holding the horrible world record of being the world champions in alcohol consumption. That’s not good and its especially not good for the next generation,” she said.

The official said the obesity trends were “alarming” – with high levels seen among children as young as 11.

“England is at the forefront of addressing obesity – our sugar and calorie reduction programme and the government’s sugar levy are world-leading but this is just the beginning of a long journey to tackle the challenge of a generation.”
