Newly elected Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad will be taking a good look at those investments that his country is involves in.

A change of government always carries some worries of what comes may when the ideology and inceptions of the previous government do not meet with those of the one that is coming into power, for the next 5 years.

The option will largely be either revise to the requirment of the new administration in the term they deems fit or suit the country objective. The avoidance of making the same mistake as another country south of India is alway on their mind aside of beholden to their investors or country. Simply, this administration is not interested in whatever you throw at them but the consequences it had to bear thereafter in years to come.

Mahathir is never pro US or any western countries including any of its neighbors, so does his would be preaccessor Anwar. The hope of those high speed rail, port development, etc will come to a standstill unless it benefit Malaysia more than the investor and that include a term very largely in their making and favors. Whatever that is deem unnecessary will be cancelled or opt for revision that favor them.

China has lost its stooge who was willing to make Malaysia a de facto colony of China' through its Bolt and Rust Initiative. Now the infrastructure programme with huge Chinese participation may be in tatters... Mr Najib will have to explain more credibly how he got by 770 million US dollars while he was in office.
