China is being forced into arming its sea islands by the US presence in South Korea and Japan.
If the US persists in staying in east Asia then perhaps China should consider building military
bases in the Gulf of Mexico.

General says China needs to arm South China Sea islands

BEIJING –  A Chinese general says China needs to build defensive structures on islands in the South China Sea to display its claim to sovereignty over virtually the entire crucial waterway.

However, the vice president of China's Academy of Military Sciences, Lt. Gen. He Lei, also declined to comment on aircraft deployments on artificial islands Chinese has built in the area, saying those were entirely China's domestic affair.

He met with Chinese and foreign journalists on Thursday on the sidelines of the annual session of China's ceremonial legislature, of which he is a member.

Earlier Thursday, Foreign Minister Wang Yi blamed "some outside forces" for stirring up trouble in the South China Sea.

China should consider building military
bases in the Gulf of Mexico.
Mexico wouldn't allow that.

Mexico–China relations are foreign relations between the People's Republic of China and the United Mexican States. They were established amidst tensions in 1972, and in recent years have seen an intense export rivalry over the United States market, with the Mexican government having accused the Chinese of impinging on its export territory by flooding the US with cheap goods manufactured in low-wage factories.

If China was as diabolical and greedy as the US they could find places for their military bases in the Gulf of Mexico.
