Metro pic: different parenting approaches or just result of purchasing decision

The differences between Chinese and western education has long been a heated topic. Recently, a picture juxtaposing a Chinese parent and a western one has brought up this topic again--and it is met with hilarious comments.



In the picture, the Chinese mom and her son are both engrossed in their phones while the foreign dad is chatting with his daughters.
@翁佳佳posted the picture on facebook and wrote: This picture explains the failure of Chinese education. The foreign dad shows us what is communication and companionship.
The post provoked some soul-searching, with netizens calling on phubbers to pay attention to their loved ones.
However, some netizens hold different opinions. Some say the foreign dad probably just forgot to buy a data package, while some guess he just ran out of battery.

Instead of seeing/ identifying a good role model father here, some flat heads making funny remarks and stupid comments should just go on fubbing and see what happens I a few years. A foreigners battery is unlikely to run out of funds or batteries since they can plan and organise ahead whilst  only using the phone for practical and constructive progress without fubbing other people..
